  • A baccalaureate degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 (B) in the final two years of study.
  • Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Note: GRE scores must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and must be no more than five years old. The GRE requirement may be waived for individuals who have earned another master's degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • Satisfactory completion of two MSPCI prerequisite courses or their equivalents before the start of the program
Note: You do not need to have applied to the MSPCI program to register for these courses. Simply view the links for the prerequisites, then select the course you want and follow the process to register. The prerequisite courses are usually offered every quarter.
  • Official transcripts from all collegiate institutions attended

Graduate School Application
The Graduate School requires that students submit an application separate from the one submitted to the academic department. You must submit the Graduate School Application electronically (along with an application fee); the application is part of your online applicant profile. When creating your profile, select "Strategic Planning for Critical Infrastructures" when asked to "Select your degree program."

The minimum allowable T.O.E.F.L. score is 580 (or 237 on the computerized tests).
  • International students must submit one set of official transcripts from all collegiate institutions attended to the Office of Graduate Admissions and one set to the Department of Urban Design and Planning at the time of application. Transcripts must include the date and title of all degrees conferred and should arrive sealed in their original envelopes.
  • Because of the time needed to process international applications, the deadline for international applicants for the program beginning in autumn 2008 is November 1, 2007.
