Advanced Conversation

Do you have trouble following conversations in English? Do you find there are many common idioms that you don’t understand? Are you a little uncomfortable when you have to talk in English? This course may be for you. It deals with the use of idioms and slang and topics in American culture. You will study and practice a series of conversation management skills to become more aware of what people expect when having a conversation. Topics include how to start a conversation, change topics, express your opinion and ideas, close a conversation, agree or disagree, and clarify when you don’t understand.

About this course
This class is designed for intermediate to advanced speakers of English who wish to improve their general language skills, or who are preparing to enter American colleges or universities.
