Program Overview
Human physical performance enhancement, whether athletic, recreational or rehabilitative, is the primary focus of this noncredit program that integrates the fields of kinesiology, nutrition and psychology from a sports medicine perspective. Courses are designed to help coaches, athletic trainers, physical and occupational therapists, primary care clinicians and others understand fundamental medical, scientific and training principles essential to effective and safe practices in physical conditioning.
Experts with specialized training in various fields that shape human physical performance serve as program instructors, covering scientific and practical topics that are the basis of successful performance enhancement training programs.
Participants in this unique program examine the relationships between anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, psychology, coaching and training theory, practical training plans, injury prevention and injury rehabilitation in designing, implementing and managing conditioning programs.
