Elizabeth Halfacre
Halfacre received her B.F.A. from Wright State University, M.F.A. from Indiana University, and most recently, a Certificate in Advertising Art from Seattle Central Community College. Her teaching career began in 1974 and she’s taught at several colleges and universities; she currently teaches drawing and 2-D design at Shoreline Community College. Freelance clients include the Pacific Science Center and the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Her illustrations have been published in the Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Magazine, Sagewoman Magazine and the 1999 Women Artists Datebook (Syracuse Cultural Workers). Halfacre works in mixed media collage and exhibits in the Puget Sound Area. She is an Affiliate Member of the Gallery 110 Cooperative. Her work has been purchased by the Discovery Park Visitor’s Center, and the City of Shoreline for its permanent collection. Bart Rulon
An award winning artist, Rulon's work is seen in museums and galleries displaying wildlife and landscape art in the United States, Canada, Sweden, Japan and England. Rulon is the author and illustrator of five books, including the popular Step by Step Illustration books published by Northlight Books. His seabird illustrations appear in the field guide All the Birds of North America (HarperCollins, 1997). In addition, Rulon's art has been included in the Arts for the Parks top 100 exhibition tour seven times.
Louise M. Smith
Smith has been teaching botanical art for over fifteen years, primarily at the UW Botanic Gardens and Gage Academy. Clients have included the Kew Magazine, Simon and Schuster, Horticulture, Taunton Press, Meredith Publishing, and Rodale Inc. Awards include, Best Color: XVI International Botanical Congress International Exhibit, Gregory Daniels Award: New York Horticultural Society and ASBA Annual Exhibit and first runner up The Beauty of Botany: International ASBA Exhibit. She is represented in the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation collection and exhibits in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. She will be included in a compendium of American Botanical Artists: Modern Botanical Art - Eden Re-imagined to be published this year. Smith is the founding President of the Northwest Botanical Artists. Examples of her artwork can be found at www.greenstems.com.
Patricia Weyer
As an educator and artist, Weyer has earned recognition and awards for
her talent and craftsmanship, and her work has been installed in private,
public and corporate collections throughout the world. Weyer works in a
variety of media, including bronze and print, but her main focus is on
glass. Her work reveals an underwater realm of dappled light, and she
likes to explore the expressive power of human and animal figuration. She
is a graduate of the UW Scientific Illustration Program and earned her
Ph.D. from the Union Institute and University.
