Expand your legal and professional skills to enter or advance in the private investigation field. Learn about courts and the legal system, practices of civil and criminal case investigation and preparation, and specific types of investigation.

What the Program Covers:

  • State and federal laws relating to the practice of investigation
  • Criminal investigation techniques
  • Civil investigation and the business of investigation
  • Discovery and document review
  • Crime scene investigation
  • Interview techniques, court testimony, and report writing

Benefits

You will gain the knowledge you need to become a private investigator working in law offices, public defender associations, insurance companies, agencies owned by other investigators, or government agencies. At the conclusion of this program, you will have the opportunity to take the Washington state exam required to obtain the operative license to work for an attorney, law firm, or private investigation agency.
