Admission Requirements

Participants should have completed a B.A. or B.S. degree, or its equivalent in workshop or work experience.

English Proficiency: Students who are non-native English speakers are expected to have adequate English language proficiency. For details, see English Language Guidelines.

International Students: This program does not qualify as full-time study, and therefore does not meet requirements for an F-1 visa. However, if you are an F-1 student currently enrolled full-time in another program, OR you are in the U.S. on some other type of visa (not F-1), you may be eligible to take a certificate program or course. For complete details, or to contact an adviser, see Visa Information.

Earning the Certificate

Participants must successfully complete the program, according to the standards established by the instructors and the advisory board, to earn nine Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and a certificate that is presented at the annual UW Extension awards ceremony. Please note: No other courses or programs may be substituted toward fulfillment of the certificate requirements.

Registration Process

Open Enrollment Process: To register, please complete and submit a registration form. Upon registering for the first-term course(s), you are considered a certificate program student who plans to participate in all courses of the program. Students are registered on a first-come, first-served basis until the program reaches its enrollment limit, or until 5 p.m. on the first day of class, January 4, 2010.

Fees and Tuition

Tuition is payable on a term-by-term basis. Total tuition for this program is $1,857, excluding certificate program and registration fees and textbooks. There is a one-time $50 nonrefundable certificate program fee due when registering for the first-term course, and a $35 nonrefundable registration fee each term.

The University's tuition exemption policy does not apply to this program. Tuition and fees are subject to change.
