Are you a songwriter or musician who wants to take the next step? Would you like to further both the expressive and the presentational aspects of your music? If you already have basic skills in vocal or instrumental technique and in songwriting, you'll advance your ability to perform, present, stage, and market your work by learning professional recording, performance, showmanship, and distribution practices, while also continuing your training in songwriting technique. The program will consist of student songwriting projects and critiques of student work, and will culminate with student distribution of polished music recordings, as well as capstone performances in public venues.

Is Music Production and Presentation Right for You?

This program is right for the large group of musicians and songwriters in the Puget Sound community who already have some experience singing, playing a musical instrument, and engaging in basic songwriting, and who want to further their musical aspirations to publicly perform and/or record and distribute their music more widely. If you want to understand the music industry, including contracts, band negotiations, and touring arrangements, this program is for you.
