Expand your technical skills with training in Low Impact Development (LID), a sustainable design approach to stormwater management. Explore the design process and implementation of LID projects and become familiar with environmental regulations that may impact execution. Learn about practical applications of LID and gain project experience by participating in field trips and a design charette.

  • The history of using LID as a stormwater management and LID science and research
  • Environmental laws and policies and the business case for LID
  • LID code regulations, permit review, and site assessment
  • Impacts of stormwater management on ecological processes and habitat
  • LID science and best management practices (BMPs)
  • Principles, practices, and techniques for design, construction, inspection, and post-construction evaluation of LID projects
  • LID construction, project timelines and sequencing, and inspection and verification
