Learn how evidence from a range of sources is identified, documented, recovered, and analyzed using a variety of tools and techniques. Follow evidence from collection and analysis into the courtroom. Understand the rules for the admissibility of evidence in litigation, including how expert witnesses are recognized and permitted to testify.

What the Program Covers

  • Crime scene analysis and reconstruction
  • Collection of many types of evidence, including latent prints, DNA, firearm and tool marks, and chemical and microanalysis
  • Basic scientific forensic procedures used in death investigations
  • Evaluation and admittance of evidence into the courtroom
