James Farricker
Technical Fellow and Chief Engineer, The Boeing Company
Farricker is responsible for the overall technical integrity and engineering/design activities of the Boeing Enterprise Network, one of the largest and most complex intranets in the US. He is recognized as an expert and innovator in the field of computing, network technologies and data communications, with extensive experience in building large TCP/IP Intranets, network protocols, wireless LANs, switching, and routing technologies. Previously, he was director of network engineering for TeraBeam Networks, a Seattle-based company that manufactures and deploys Free Space Optic technology. Farricker, who has been a UW instructor since 1986, currently serves on the UW President's Visiting Committee. He received the Award for Excellence in Teaching from University of Washington Extension in 2001.
