Spring 2009
(40 sessions) Orientation, required for all students, takes place on Monday, March 3, 1:00-3:00 p.m. with a welcome reception. Classes are held March 3 through June 5, 2009. Depending on the number of sections, classes are held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, but include three make-up Fridays on April 4, May 2, and May 30. No class May 26; $3,660, 18 CEUs.
Global Business Course
12 hours/week
Each week, a different business expert teaches about his or her field of specialization, including:
- The global business environment
- Intercultural communications
- Global marketing
- Global trade operations
- Management of global distribution systems
- Global business law
- Global finance
- Global accounting and taxation
- Global business strategies
- Internet business strategies
There is also a global business simulation project. Students work in teams on the project, which is structured to help build English language negotiation skills.
Business English Language Course
6 hours/week
This course is taught by a professional English language instructor. It is designed to complement the business course and ensure student understanding of the business course lectures and assignments. The course also helps students master business vocabulary and build verbal communication skills.
