Dedicated to their profession, these experienced working professionals share their on-the-job experience with students:

Ciara A. Kennedy, Ph.D., MBA
Director, Strategy and Corporate Development, Cypress Bioscience, Inc.

At Cypress Bioscience, Inc., based in San Diego, California, Kennedy has held responsibilities ranging from program and alliance management to business development. Kennedy's prior work experience includes manageing drug discovery and development projects at Biogen Idec, and working with bi-coastal and multi-company project teams. During her career, Kennedy has succsessfully led teams through mergers and reorginzations and to significant program check-points.

Kennedy received her doctorate at the Queen's University of Bellfast, Northern Ireland. She then relocated to the Burnham Institite in La Jolla, Califronia, to continue her research in the field of apoptotic proteases. Kennedy became a member of the inaugural class of the Rady School of Management at UCSD in 2004, and graduated with a Master's of Business Administration in 2006.

Clive Schuelein, MBA
Retired Senior Project Manager, PACCAR

Prior to his retirement in March, 2005, Schuelein spent 40 of his 46-year working career in the Information Systems arena. His experience spans the entire Information Technology industry, including application development, operating systems support, technical support, oiffice automation, voice and data communications, main-frame insfrastructure, and client/server infrastructure and development.

His industry experience includes the U.S. Military, airline transportation, and heavy manufacturing. He has participated in and led projects budgeted from $500K to $17M. His most recent position was as a Senior Project Managemer in the Information Technology division of PACCAR. While at PACCAR, he managed a number of Web-based e-commerce software developmnent projects, which leveraged the latest client/server and Web technologies, and software engineering methods and techniques. Schuelein is a Certified Computer Professional (CCP), a current member of PMI, and a past member of SIM, ICCP, AQP, and ASQC.

Yves Theriault, Ph.D.
President, CEO and Founder of Performance Project Management LLC

Theriault founded Performance Project Management LLC in 2004 to capitalize on the use of project management methodologies to achieve organizational performance. He has an extensive background in both business and technology, and has 18 years of experience in project management in all types and sizes of industries. Theriault holds a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Montreal and a certificate in project management from University of California at San Diego. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and serves as reviewer and liaison for the institute's mega project, LEXICON.
