Classes generally meet one Friday and Saturday each month at the UW Extension classrooms in Bellevue.

Courses should be taken in the following order:

Winter Courses

Interactive Marketing Strategies and Methods

Schedule: (3 sessions) Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Jan. 9, 10, Feb. 6, 7, March 6, 7, 2009, $2,500, 3.8 CEUs.
Instructor:Mike Eguchi and Joe Barnes

This course helps you navigate in the marketing technology landscape today. Macro trends such as media consumption and user generated media options as well as business strategies are covered. You will look at the traditional marketing mix in terms of the on-line environment, including a broad look at numerous on-line tactics. You will create your own blog and use analytics to learn what works and what doesn't and why. There will also be strong content on making the business case and budgeting. The course concludes with promotion strategies and customer acquisition using the internet.


Interactive Marketing History and Trends (online)

Schedule: June 5, 2009, $500, 1 CEU, 10 contact hours.
Instructor: Mike Eguchi

Online modules will provide background and web-based examples of topics to be covered in class the following month. Topics will include the history of the internet, marketing strategies, business strategies, the sales cycle, rules, regulations and ethics, and how to tell a story. The initial online module will be available in late fall, to be completed prior to the first class session.


Spring Course

Interactive Marketing Campaigns and Protocols

Schedule: (3 sessions) Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and April 3, 4, 2009; Friday, May 1, 2009; and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009; $1,500, 4.2 CEUs.
Instructor: Ben Straley

This course begins with customer loyalty and retention strategies using the internet and concludes with measuring success through analyzing return on investment (ROI). You will learn techniques for analyzing online marketing promotions and delivering a superior user experience. Teams will select projects with real companies and work together to develop an approach to solve that company's real interactive marketing need. Individuals are expected to invest a minimum of twenty hours outside of class on the project. The program concludes with presentations to company representatives on the last day of class. *All fees are subject to change.
