Gabe Brown

Brown is a Certified Scrum Master certified by Scrum co-creator Dr. Jeffrey Sutherland and Mitch Lacey. While attending The Ohio State University, he created an inventory system that managed over $3 million dollars of inventory for a small business. After graduating he started his own consulting company that focused on lowering IT operating costs and web marketing for manufacturers across the nation. He is currently working at Microsoft with over 3 years of experience applying agile best practices to large scale distributed systems. Brown has given numerous presentations on the application of Scrum including guest lectures at the Microsoft Engineering Excellence programs and the Patterns & Practices Summit 2008.

Mitch Lacey

Lacey has been managing plan-driven and Agile projects for over twelve years. He honed his Agile skills at Microsoft, where he successfully released core enterprise services for Windows Live. His first Microsoft agile team was coached by Ward Cunningham (creator of the wiki and co-creator of Extreme Programming), Jim Newkirk (creator of nUnit) and David Anderson (Kanban advocate). While at Microsoft, he transitioned from Program Manager to Agile Coach, working hand-in-hand with groups transitioning to Agile practices. After Microsoft, Lacey was Agile Practice Manager at Ascentium where he practiced agility while coaching customers on agile practices. As a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and a registered Project Management Professional (PMP), Lacey shares his experience in Certified ScrumMaster courses, Agile coaching engagements, conference presentations, blogs and white papers. He authored "Adventures in Promiscuous Pairing" (Agile 2006 conference), "Transitioning to Agile: Key Lessons Learned in the Field" (Fall 2007 PMI Global Congress in Atlanta, Georgia) and "The Impacts of Poor Estimating &emdash; and How to Fix It" (Winter 2007 SQE Agile development conference in Orlando, Florida). He also presented at Agile 2008, the 2008 Better Software Conference, and is the Organizational Culture stage producer for Agile 2009. Lacey is currently authoring a book on how new teams can survive the first year of Scrum (Addison Wesley, 2010).

Chris Sterling

Sterling is a Certified Scrum Trainer and Agile Coach for SolutionsIQ, and has more than 14 years of experience in software development and consulting. Sterling works on enterprise integration projects for technology startups, large corporations, and government agencies with a clear focus on enabling architecture. As an Agile Coach, he is an innovator and facilitator increasing product delivery consistency and quality in project management, architecture, and software development. Along with his daily responsibilities, Sterling has released multiple free and open source projects and provides thought leadership on the use of open source in the enterprise. He was founder of the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) Puget Sound Chapter and currently supports the Seattle Scrum Users Group.
