How to Apply
Requirements
You must be a high school graduate and at least 18 years old to apply and meet the requirements below:
- Enrollment in IBEP, ETH, or BUSIP
- a TOEIC score of at least 650
If your score is above 600, you may be admitted to the Quarter 1 Preparation Seminar on condition that you take the TOEIC again at the end of the quarter and at least 650. If you do not meet the TOEIC requirement, you will not be placed in an internship.
Admission
We handle applications on a first-come, first-served basis. You
must fill out a separate application for this program. Admission to a certificate program does not guarantee admission to BEIC. Our programs fill up quickly, so please apply early.
Follow these steps to apply:
- Read this Web site carefully, especially the costs, dates, and refund policies on our Information Sheet.
- Download the Application Form from our Web site or, if you would like an application and brochure mailed to you, e-mail us or call 1-206-543-6242.
- Complete and mail the application with:
- a $50 nonrefundable application fee
- a $40 express postage fee (recommended)
- $300 nonrefundable tuition deposit
- a statement or document issued by a bank or other financial institution confirming financial support for tuition, fees and all expenses during your time in the program
- proof of your TOEFL, TOEIC score, or completion of level 4 in the UW Campus Intensive English Program
- a copy of the page in your passport with your picture, name, and birthdate
It usually takes five business days to process an application. Then, we will send you a Visa Eligibility Form (I-20).
- After you receive the Visa Eligibility From (I-20), contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to schedule an F-1 visa interview appointment.
- Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee ($100).
- Take your I-20 and supporting documents to the interview.
Please Note: Admission to the Business English Internship Class does not mean you are accepted to the University of Washington.
