Admission
I have completed one or more years of college
What are the admission requirements?
To qualify for admission to the Evening Degree Program, students must:
- have completed at least 75 transferable college credits, and
- be admissible to the University according to the general criteria in effect the quarter they apply.
Applicants who have never attended the UW and fit the above criteria are considered transfer applicants. Those who have previously been enrolled in an uncompleted degree program at the UW are considered returning students.
Core Subject Requirements
Evening Degree Program applicants who have fulfilled the high school core subject requirements are evaluated to see if their academic history qualifies them for admission.
Transfer applicants are evaluated and ranked on their completion of core subject requirements their grades and test scores, and supplemental factors. Priority is given to students applying for the third or junior year.
Personal Statement
All transfer applicants should submit a personal statement with the application.
Special Admission Situations
Applicants Seeking Special Consideration through an Appeal
If you are denied and wish to petition, see Guidelines for Special Admission and Appeal on the main UW Web site:
Applicants Whose First Language is Not English
If your first language is not English, or you have attended school in a non-English speaking country, you are strongly encouraged to read Guidelines for Transfer Applicants Whose First Language is Not English on the main UW Web site. The guidelines describe:
- alternate routes to satisfying the core subject requirements for admission in English and foreign language; and
- the English proficiency (ESL) requirement for graduation from the UW.
ESL coursework is available only during the day; an evening student in need of ESL coursework will need to attend day classes for the first quarter of enrollment at the University.
